Hurl a dagger imbued with the powers of water. Hurl three rotating daggers in one direction. Hurl rotating daggers in three directions. Hook and pull an enemy for further attacks. Hurl a dagger so it rotates through the air. In option 2, if the player did recruit Cyuss or Ashlay and has six or less party members, Phia can be recruited during the emblem quest's main plot by choosing "Could you lend us a hand?". After doing the subsequent Astral Caves dungeon, the player needs to select two more options in order to keep her around: "Well, let's hear her out," and "To the Purgatorium!" The player must select the options "I want to know the truth," "If I could.", and "Take her with you". There, she will ask if she can help with something. In option 1, if neither Cyuss or Ashlay were recruited, in Astral City after resting at the inn, the player must head to the jail within the castle to find Phia. When recruiting her via Option 2, it is already learned. She cannot obtain her Gods of War SFT if she is recruited via Option 1. One happens early in the game while the other happens in the mid-section. There are two conditions in order to recruit Phia. Despite this, she is still restricted to wearing her Astral Ring accessory at all times. Her normal attack in First Departure is changed to a standard melee-range swing, significantly reducing its damage potential and making her a short-range fighter. The potential number of hits Phia can achieve per throw made her one of the best close-range fighters, without having to use a single technique. These projectiles travel through tightly clustered enemies and damage them individually, and can strike them all a second time on the return trip. In the SNES version, Phia throws her daggers as a boomerang-like weapon when performing normal attacks. The ring provides a +10 STM bonus, but otherwise offers no benefit and prevents her from combining the effects of other accessories. One of her accessory slots is permanently filled with the Astral Ring, which is described as being "needed to use the Raven Sword fighting style". She can also equip leather armor, heavy armor and shields. Her movement speed is classified as fast (★★★☆). Phia's weapon of choice consist of daggers and short swords.
